Summary
Welcome to Trinity Hall MCR site
Description
What?
The MCR stands for Middle Combination Room, which is both the name of a room in College devoted solely for the use of graduate students and their guests, as well as the name of the society to which all graduate students are entitled to membership. It is what the graduate student body of a given college is called at Cambridge (the JCR, 'Junior Combination Room', is the same for undergraduates, and the SCR, 'Senior Combination Room', for fellows).

Where?
The MCR stands pride of place in the Front Court of Trinity Hall. As you enter central site via the main entrance, turn immediately left and the MCR is directly in front of you. Ideally sited at the hub of college life, the MCR is conveniently near the porters' lodge, cafeteria and the dining hall, all college offices and due to the perfect setting of Trinity Hall, both the centre of town and the river Cam.
Purpose?
The MCR is the focal point of the graduate community of Trinity Hall. The Committee orchestrates a wide range of events and works hard to create an environment offering daily newspapers, multi-channel television, refreshments and more, in addition to the numerous entertainment events coordinated by the 'Ents team'. At its busiest, the facility regularly provides host to lunchtime banter, the forum of political expression that is the MCR Committee Meetings, drinks before and after formal dinners, film nights, tea and cakes and the occasional cheese or wine-tasting session. It also has a few computers for checking email and several plush chairs in which to take a break between classes and read a paper or have a cup of tea. Any time you go in, you're bound to run into someone else you know. Please do not use the MCR as a space for supervisions or other academic meetings. If you are a a College member, you can book a teaching room in College free of charge via the Room Booking Form on the College Intranet. Your pigeonhole (college mail box) is located in the Porters' Lodge.
