Homelessness is a big problem in Cambridge. It?s hard to walk across town without seeing someone on the streets and often difficult to know how best to respond.
Description
Streetbite (formerly called "The Homeless Thing") was set up in 1999 by a group of students who wanted to do something to help the homeless in a practical way.
What do we do?
We wander round town in pairs or small groups, taking a thermos of coffee and some sandwiches to offer the homeless people we meet. The food is always gratefully received, but the most important thing we give is simply the time for a drink and a chat.
