University life presents Christians with a great opportunity to live-out and explain the truth about Jesus. The Cambridge Inter-Collegiate Christian Union is made up of college groups where we are able to make friends and support each other in our individual evangelism.
Description
As the combined body of the CICCU we aim to share the Gospel with our friends, support one another in prayer, Bible study, and teaching , and broaden our world vision of God's work. CICCU is not a church and encourages attendance at one of the local churches, where we can serve and be supported.
We are excited about CICCU because it is all about the gospel. If you haven't come across the term 'gospel' before, then it's simply the good news of what God has done for us in his Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says that true life is found only in Jesus, but we've all turned our backs on Him and so we are cut off from that life. We have decided to go our own way, ignoring Jesus who is the rightful king of our lives. This is a hard truth, but the Bible is clear that if we keep on rejecting God's Son, eventually God will reject us permanently, forever. The good news of the Bible is that God Himself has acted to rescue us from His judgement and bring us back into the true life found in Christ. God has rescued us through Jesus' death and resurrection, because on the cross Jesus died in our place. So in Him we can know forgiveness, a new start and eternal life. That's the gospel in a few lines!
