Summary
CUBB is a student-run society for people who enjoy playing brass band music in a relaxed atmosphere. In term time we rehearse once a week and play regular concerts in and around Cambridge as well as visiting distant parts of the UK on our annual tour. We also arrange a variety of social events include pubcrawls, formal halls and punting trips and visit Wolfson bar after rehearsal each week.
Description
CUBB is open to everybody, and there are no auditions. If you are interested in joining us, you can contact our musical director for details or just turn up to a rehearsal. The first rehearsal of the year will be at 8pm on Thursday 8th October in the Lee Hall at Wolfson College (click here for a map of how to get there - it's best to use the Selwyn Gardens entrance to the college). If you're new to Cambridge and don't know your way around yet, for the first few weeks of term there'll be a group of people leaving King's college at 7:30pm on a Thursday to walk to rehearsals. If you're going to be living a long way from Wolfson or have a heavy instrument to carry, a lift can be organised for you with a CUBB member who drives - e-mail cubb-chair@srcf.ucam.org if a lift would be a help to you.
