Summary
The aim of The Amoral Sciences Club is to promote and provide a forum for undergraduate philosophical discussion, and to serve as a platform for philosophy student social events.
Description
Hello everyone! Welcome to Cambridge for freshers joining us this year, and welcome back to everyone else. Thanks to the hard work of last year's committee, the ASC is now a very healthy society. Last year was filled with stimulating talks from a diverse range of speakers (including the Philosophy of Physics, and a representative from CICCU), and we aim to maintain the high level of discussion this coming year.
We have two major purposes: to provide a platform for undergraduates to present and discuss their ideas on philosophy in a semi-formal environment, and to host social events which help philosophers to enjoy what should be a great sociable subject. Thus, as you can see from our termcards, we hold regular meetings (generally on a Tuesday evening) as well as frequent social occasions. In addition, this year we have decided to expand our website so that it provides more helpful sections for undergraduate philosophers than ever before – a look at our Tripos Support pages and our Links recommendations will, we hope, be vaguely entertaining as well as informative.
