Summary
Each year since 2000, sixteen of the most talented directors, producers, actors and technicians from the University of Cambridge have brought a different Shakespeare play across the Atlantic to a variety of universities and professional theatres in the Eastern states of the USA. Universities we have recently performed at include Harvard, Yale and MIT.
Description
Our 2009 production is 'Two Gentlemen of Verona', and as the 10th Anniversary tour, in the year of the 800th Anniversary celebrations of the University of Cambridge, it promises to be the most successful yet. Take a look at our director's notes to find more out more about the play and what our director, Tom, has in mind. To read more about the cast and crew of this year's tour, check out the company page.
On the left you can see the (3,421 mile!) route we are taking with our tour this fall, stopping off at 13 universities, schools and professional theatres (and a couple of places for fun) from Massachusetts to Florida. You can find more information about the venues we are visiting, and how to book tickets, by clicking here. The tour runs from 1 September - 1 October, but we have preview performances in Cambridge on the August bank holiday weekend, and a home-run in early October. And for everyone back in England, we'll be keeping a blog whilst we're gone.
We've visited the US nine times in the last ten years and you can find plenty more about our previous tours (including reviews, cast details and some photographs) by visiting our history page.
